Nutrition is an essential part of our program. In the interest of helping children learn good nutritional habits, the Center serves breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack with no additional costs to parents.

During the school year, our infants, toddlers and preschool students receive a breakfast from 8:30 until 9 am. Lunch begins at 11:30 and afternoon snack is served at 2:30. Drinks of water are always available. The kitchen meets Health Department standards.

Our standards for breakfast, lunch and snack foods are in compliance with the state licensing regulations and the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The Center provides milk or juice for non-milk drinkers. Juice will be provided for children who have a signed statement from a physician indicating that a child is a non-milk drinker. There is absolutely no need to include a lunchtime drink. The teachers request the total absence of sweet, non-nutritious desserts and drinks. In addition, the Toddler Program teachers request an absence of chips and other non-nutritional fillers.

The Center follows USDA guidelines to ensure our meals are healthy and portioned correctly for each age group. We serve breakfast (8:30 a.m. – 9:00), lunch (11:30 – 12:00) and snacks (2:30 – 3:00) daily! Our meals include vegetables, fresh fruit, protein, whole grains and milk. Water is also offered throughout the day. Infant’s are served a variety of baby food when they areĀ  ready and with parents consent. We encourage all parents try new foods at home before giving us permission to feed your infant the desired food. Please wait at least 3-5 days between introducing new food at home before requesting that we feed your infant that food. This will ensure that your child does not have an allergy to the new food.

Copies of our menus for our students are posted on the large bulletin board by the front entrance and in each classroom. Copies for parents/guardians to take home are located on the shelf at the beginning of the front entrance hallway on our parent resource wall.
