Our Mission
Is to provide safe, high-quality childcare and education in a nurturing, family-oriented environment dedicated to enhancing each child’s unique social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
Our caring and compassionate staff provides an environment and program that is responsive to each child’s developmental levels and abilities based on their unique interests to support their individual growth in a family atmosphere.
Play Based Learning
At the Yellow Springs Community Children’s Center we have adopted Creative Curriculum as our standard curriculum for your child’s learning. Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that has been proven for over 40 years to be the Gold Standard for high quality, engaging, discovery-based learning where your child will learn through play at his/her own pace and developmental level.
Relationship Building
Growing and navigating through different environments can be difficult and frustrating for young children. The Yellow Springs Community Children’s Center uses the evidence-based principles and practices of Conscious Discipline. Conscious Discipline is a guidance approach which helps children identify and navigate challenging emotions and build resiliency though positive relationships with adults and peers.
Meals Cooked on Site
Meals and snacks are included in your tuition at the Children’s Center. We participate in the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program following nutritional guidelines for children recommended by the federal government. Depending on the hours your child attends, he/she could receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack while at the Children’s Center. We are proud to have our very own commercial kitchen on site with a dedicated cook who prepares delicious hot meals daily for students. View a sample menu.
And Family Fun!
When your child attends the Yellow Springs Community Children’s Center the ENTIRE family is welcomed into our YSCCC family. There are numerous ways parents can be involved at the Children’s Center and fun family activities such as the Family Fall Festival, Winter Holiday Concert and the Spring Jam! These are just a few of the opportunities for families to interact with one another and build relationships with other parents and staff. Check out other ways to get involved
