Title XX
Title XX of the Social Security Act, authorizes federal funding for social services, including publicly funded or subsidized childcare. In Ohio, this is commonly known as Title XX and is a program through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to help families pay for childcare if they meet certain income and work/school requirements.
Application process: Parents or guardians must apply through their local county's Department of Job and Family Services. Search for the name of the county you live in followed by the words “Department of Job and Family Services”.
Eligibility: To qualify, families generally must meet income guidelines (often at or below 145% of the Federal Poverty Level) and have a parent who is employed or enrolled in a training or education program.
Child eligibility: Children must be younger than age 13, although there can be exceptions for children with special needs.
Co-payment: Depending on your income and family size, you may still have to pay a co-payment.
